exhibition and performance hosted by i’m lab cultural center, abano terme, italy
visual performer: samir sayed abdellattef [Local~Δ§]
sound performer: davide cairo aka edisonnoside
the “mono no aware” is a japanese aesthetic concept that expresses a strong emotional participation towards the beauty of nature and human life, with a consequent nostalgic sensation linked to its incessant change. starting from this concept, first expressed in the sound and in the title of the last work of edisonnoside, the two artists have woven their own languages and projects. samir sayed abdellattef, sensibly near to japanese aesthetics and philosophy, has created an immersive virtual dimension interpreting the themes of impermanence and transience of things, through the archetypal images of this culture: the falling petals of the cherry trees in bloom, the symbolic masks of the nō theater, all translated in a digital and disturbed language, destined to repeat themselves in an infinite loop.
derma is a new way of thinking at the exhibition, focused on the new digital visual artistic practices togheter with the electronic sound and research.
each exhibition is the result of the work of two artists invited by the curators of the project, who share their different languages for the making of the inedit scenario presented as an electronic and visual event.
